New Asian Cafe in Houston Heights

On my usual route homeward I take a right from Shepherd onto 11th and for a while I've been growing serious curiousity about a new tenant in the shopping center on the corner there. I just happened to stop this time to find out when they would be opening. "6:30", said one of the contractors who was putting finishing touches on. So I tool around for awhile and come back later. I was their first customer. "Wow....that's cool", I thought to myself. It wouldn't be enough to simply write about the food (I ordered the General's chicken and some dragon rolls...they ROCK!!). After just chlling for a little while talking to the other customers, I got the impression that the owner really enjoys connecting with the people that come in. The kitchen is an open style kitchen right next to the cashier, this is how Ken (the owner) cooks and conversates! The rest of the staff is equally as hospitable. What's also good is that it is a relatively small place. I imagine this place getting very popular very fast. The staff is good, the atmosphere is social, oh yeah, and like I said, the food rocks. The chicken I had was good and spicy and the dragon rolls were cooked just light enough to make me forget they were fried.
