Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle Chinese Restaurant
9338 Bellaire Blvd.
Houston, TX 77036
This place has one of the best beef noodle soup I have ever tasted. The soup is made to perfection, the beef is so tender, and the noodles, oh the noodles is so good. Price is reasonable but the food is exceptional. Another dish I would recommend is the Fried Crispy Chicken. This is my favorite dish everywhere but I love it here the most. I would recommend this place to anyone who want a traditional Taiwanese meal or just want to try something new.

China Gourmet Chinese Restaurant Review:
I have been going to China Gourmet (SI-FU-Lai) for almost 5 years. From the famous local snacks to the authentic full course meals, Si-Fu-Lai offers different variety of Taiwanese food. My favorite dish is the sizzling black pepper steak; this unique style cooking of steak was originally invented in Taiwan’s famous night market. For $5.75, you can have a plate of medium rare steak (about 8 to 10 oz), with the black pepper sauce poured on top. This plate also come with noodle or rice, one sunny side up egg, and baby corn or other vegetable. Si-Fu-Lai also provides sizzling fried chicken steak and pork chop, and they taste just as good. I also recommend the seafood toaster. This is very famous southern Taiwanese style chowder. The original name is called “mini-coffin” in Chinese, but now they have to rename it so customers would not be scared by the name. This creamy seafood chowder contains a lot of seafood and vegetable and soup is contained inside a fried toast box when ordered. Also one fried toast lid will be placed on top to close the fried toast box. Seafood toaster smells good and taste great with any dish you order. I recommend both dishes because the prices are fair and you can have either in less than 5 min after the order is placed.

Tea Cafe Chinese Restaurant

Houston, TX 77036
(Left corner of Diho Shopping Center)
I went to this place after seeing it here on this website. It is just how it was described. The interior looks very classic and authentic. I tried the strawberry shake and it was pretty good. I was amazed by the quantity since most tea cafes uses 16oz. cups. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Please visit Houston Chinatown Web Portal for more reviews.

The Scene:
One of the first bubble tea store to open in Houston, Star Snow Ice is in a league of its own. The atmosphere is clean and relaxing. There is enough room for people to come in and play card games, talk, or do homework. Service is fast and reliable, with many employees taking orders and making drinks or shaved ice.
The Drinks:
Bubble tea here is made from fresh, homemade ingredients and is the separating factor between this place with other bubble tea stores. They have smoothies, coffees, frappuccinos, mochas, lattes, and fruit drinks. They even have my favorite healthy drink, made out of fresh carrots, apple, orange, and celery. They even offer shaved ice, which is a bowl of shaved ice, topped with red or green beans, almond jello, etc.
Heads Up:
Always a big hit in
Houston Chinatown, come early to avoid huge crowds and little parking spaces

Tea Cafe in Houston
Tea Cafe

On the outside of Tea café there are a few tables and chairs set up under the shade, for those who like to hang out with their friends. Inside the store, you will see it is very nicely decorated. From the uniform golden oak table and chairs to the classical Chinese style teapot display on the wall and almond color curtain with the red lantern hanging on the side, this place is culturally balanced. The bubble tea tastes perfect, and the size of the drink is bigger than its competitors. I give it two thumbs up!
